Remine | Release-Party in Darmstadt

Description

remine are back. Originally formed as a trio, Alex Welsch and Michael Busch have been performing as a multi-instrumental duo for several years now, mostly outside their home base of Darmstadt. Now they’re set to release a new EP, and what could be more natural than to haul their entire arsenal of amps, guitars, basses, organs, bass pedals, glockenspiel, drums, electronics, effects boards, and loopers, from their rehearsal space at the Knabenschule straight over to the Konzertkeller. With this setup, they create their own brand of voodoo that blends noisy pop, dark post-punk, psychedelic Krautrock, and thrilling minimalism. Their music grooves and rages in a quirky way, celebrating strong melodies with a distinctive female voice while bizarre rumblings rise from the underground. Accompanying this are insights that straddle destruction and hope, such as: “If you can’t lock it, slam it.” After the concert, you can find their recordings not only at the merchandise booth but also on the turntables: DJ Jahrova invites you to an after-show dance party with freaky grooves from various decades. © Christian Hahn
