Volker Rebell & Band | 60 Jahre Beatles „Revolver“ in Darmstadt

Description

“To revolve” means “to turn.” Back in 1966, the entire pop world revolved around its artistic and creative central star: the Beatles, with their groundbreaking new album, “Revolver.” Even their previous album, “Rubber Soul” (1965), was brimming with innovation and raised the bar for songwriting to a previously unattained level of quality. But with their follow-up album “Revolver,” the Beatles achieved yet another phenomenal leap forward, this time also in terms of sound and structure. “Revolver” marked a quantum leap from the beat music of the Beatlemania era to the complex art of song and sound in experimental art pop, a genre the Beatles pioneered with the landmark album “Revolver” and the beginning of their studio years. A live sing-along concert featuring all the songs from the LP, expertly performed by the Radio Rebell Band, plus a lighthearted reading and commentary on each individual song by cult host Volker Rebell in the style of a live radio broadcast. (All lyrics projected onto the screen.) Martin Grieben: Vocals/Guitar | Frank Willi Schmidt: Bass/Vocals Anselm Wild: Drums/Vocals | Volker Rebell: Narrator/Vocals/Guitar © Gerd Coordes
