Two grand ducal mausoleums hidden in the roses of Park Rosenhöhe
The story
In November 1937 a plane carrying Hereditary Grand Duke Georg Donatus, his wife Cecilie and their two small sons crashed near Ostend on the way to a family wedding in London. The wedding went ahead as a funeral instead, and they were buried here. Their daughter Johanna had been left at home because she was too young to travel. She died two years later and lies beside them.
