The Artists' Colony museum inside Olbrich's Ernst Ludwig House of 1901
The story
Peter Behrens rehearsed here what he later did for AEG. Before he became the first designer to give a company a single visual identity, he built a house on this hill and designed everything in it, furniture, tableware and graphics included, as one piece of work. The colony's own run ended abruptly: weeks after the 1914 exhibition opened, the First World War began.
